Rena's Ex-Husband Killed By Police.
Ms. Rena Gaunk, who inspired the naming of Rena, Marge & Saffire, lost an estranged husband in an incident some outraged citizens are calling police violence.
Kenny "Condor" Adams was a security guard with The Federated, a commercial partnership in Midland, MI. After working the second shift, he and fellow guard Philip Dunnegan checked into the Watanabe Grill for a late bite and, presumably, a few cold ones. According to eyewitnesses, Mr. Adams was noticeably in high spirits anticipating "payday". As Mr. Adams and Mr. Dunnegan began their journey home, they were accosted by an angry man persistently asking for marijuana. Heated words were exchanged; a donnybrook erupted. The would-be drug buyer was none other than Detective John Varsnovalli, who in turn summoned back-up. The events that followed are disputed, save one: Mr. Adams was shot in the chest. The MPD maintains that Mr. Adams "lunged" for Det. Varnovalli's handgun. Mr. Dunnegan, in a statement to the press at a preliminary hearing, admits he "was getting gaffed, and lots of it, yessir [sic]" and failed to see the fatal instant. "The last memory I have of Condor is him seizing [sic] on the street, gasping for air, but breathing his own blood." Ms. Gaunk, the victim's 2nd wife, refused comment.
