The Big Pig: WMC Release 'Piggy Pigfucker'.

Fresh (or not so fresh, actually; the term 'fresh' simply should not be applied to these men) from their first tour of Europe, the Windowless Masturbation Cells dug deeply their trenches in Dorchester and solidified their positions as one of 'parlor' rock's enigmatic cornerstones. Employing a new production, the band has stepped up the fidelity a bit on this, their 6th studio release, and frankly, has never sounded better.

Those listeners unaccustomed to the WMC experience will quickly be brought up to speed by the first 2 tracks, 'Sound Check' and 'Baseball In Yonkers', the latter capturing the mindlessness of late August as well as anything anyone has ever done. And, trust me, no one has ever done anything like 'Yonkers' before. 'Decibels Across The Moors' and 'The Tale Of Itching Nguyen' both extend the WMC greatest hits collection: empirical analysis yields 100% rock.

Other notables include 'Spread Open', 'Tour Guide', a surreal voyage on two wheels guaranteed to be memorable, and the tour-de-force summation of Cell-dwelling society portrayed in 'Chorus Pedals In My Ear'. While waiting for lost baggage in the bowels of the Philadelphia International Airport, I found myself the only victim listening to a copy of 'Piggy Pigfucker' at considerable volume. And, not too coincidentally, I found myself to be the only one with a large smile on my face.
