State of UNION RECORDINGS
Report for Fiscal Year CBA.

21 AUGUST 2001 / CBB013

The planet revolves once again, unfolding a series of small events for UNION RECORDINGS. Achievements this year included: refinement of our DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION network and its establishment at the domain of unionrecordings.org; the initialization of a covert funding operation, details to follow; a small bit of publicity -- our first, actually -- on a discussion board of Black Light Power enthusiasts; continuing migration to a computing infrastructure constructed under a philosophy closer to our own; survival of the physical relocation of our central offices; and lastly and most importantly, the addition of 7 new volumes of undeniable quality to our catalog, which now numbers 63 entries.

Again, a total of 7 recordings were issued during CBA. An asterisk denotes national digital dissemination:

CBA1* Piggy Pigfucker (WINDOWLESS MASTURBATION CELLS)
 CBA2* Ballroom Days (BUZZSHACKLER)
CBA3* Black Light Power (SOYUZ POSTAL & PACKET)
CBA4* The Only Game In Town (MIDLAND-MAYAK COHORT)
CBA5 Touch My Crewcut (RENA, MARGE & SAFFIRE)
 CBA6* Smoke & Stink & Stars (BUZZSHACKLER)
CBA7 The Garden Of Earthly Delights (EDDY OSNEY)

One failure of note was the collapse of a tentative marketing agreement with the Continental Basketball Association throughout the CBA fiscal year -- their failure to fall in line with our "No Commerce Is Necessary!" worldview was their ultimate loss. Negotiations with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation are slated to begin shortly for next year.

Focal points for growth this year unveiled: the completion of Operation Compressed Boxset for improved catalog availability; continued expansion of digital distribution by means both mentionable (courting niche online communities) and unmentionable (maybe someday...); the resolution of our digital format of choice, Ogg vs. MP3 (currently we are leaning towards offering both); and the aggressive recruitment of new artists and labels. Our path to prosperity is obscured only by our inability to produce profound sentences! Eat the rich, crap good music!
