Union Recordings Inc., of Commerce City CO, said it has secured $18.5 million in its second round of venture
funding. His Excellency
Al-Nadeem Chateau-Pan Dee-Dee led the round, which included
3i,
Investcorp,
Citigroup Inc. and
Vertex Management.
Union Recordings said it plans to use the funds to create new services such as delivery
notification and to continue its global expansion. The company raised $9 million in its first round, which
closed in summer 2000. The company provides free music on the internet and through the post.
The following letter was filed with the
SEC on 18 October 2002, prior to the meeting of the board of directors in Oklahoma City the next day.
Dear Sir,
I am lead to contact you after reading your report on
the company of the Union Recordings during my search
for a business negotiation. Anyway, my name is Mr.
Azeem Olandowajee, a legal practitioner based in
Nigeria. I have the authority of my client, His
Excellency Al-Nadeem Chateau-Pan Dee-Dee, former
Deputy Minister of Finance for the Republic of
Nigeria, to seek for a reliable, honest and
trustworthy foreign businessman or woman whom could
assist in the
investment of the sum of US$ 18.5M either in his/her
company or in any western companies.
Upon receipt of the following I shall furnish you
immediately
with the modalities for us to proceed. Your
remuneration for
the assistance shall be 30% of the total sum due to
the role
you are going to play to make the business to be a
success plan.
As a legal practitioner I am quite aware of
the legal practice as it affects this transaction and
would try the best of my ability to ensure
everything goes accordingly. I am fully intend to
observe up to and including the unauthorized
replication.
